Brian Wilsons autobiography was released yesterday. I picked it up, it will be a great read.

"The pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles!"

-Bob Dylan, Subterranean Homesick Blues

"We could ride and surf together while our love would grow"

-Brian Wilson, Surfer Girl

Have been reading this for weeks now, start of college kinda killed my reading but I’m getting back into doing about 50 pages a night or so which is still crap by my standards but at least I’m reading.

Anyways I’m around 800/1000 pages done so should be finished this weekend, thank Jesus!

I’m reading The Shining atm, I wasn’t too impressed with the first 100 pages but it’s getting much better, should be finished it either Saturday or Sunday night hopefully.

So what should I read after?

“Visions of Cody” by Jack Kerouac…not unlike walking through John Lennon ‘s mind, all by yourself. Almost overwhelming, but very beautiful.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to actually read it for probably the next week because I got it from a Scholastic book order. Hey, at least it’s something!

I’m currently reading the vote that actually won ‘The Exorcist’. (I loved Rosemary’s Baby btw, I think I even preferred it to The Shining, it was just a fabulously written book).

I’ve only read the prologue so far so can’t really comment it on it but I plan on diving into it properly Friday night after I have my Business Information Systems project finished.

After that as I’ve previously said, I plan on reading classic children’s fiction and becoming-classic teen fiction (seeing as it’s such a new genre), I never really read classics as a child only modern children’s fiction and non-fiction, (I’d say about 70% of what I know about history comes from The Horrible Histories series, seriously if you have kids <12 get them those books, they’re fabulous).

The planned reads over the next few months include but are not limited to:

His Dark Materials trilogy

The Chronicles of Narnia

A Series of Unfortunate Events (I stopped reading these when I was about 8, I think I got to around book 5-6 before I gave up)

Black Beauty

A Little Princess

Little Women

The Secret Garden

Noughts and Crosses series

Aesop’s Fables

A selection of tales from The Grimm Brothers (alas not in their original German, I really should get them in their original form)

Oliver Twist

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (first I’ll have to get Tom Sawyer though)

Heidi

That’s all I can think of at the minute, anyone have any further suggestions and I’ll see if I can squeeze them onto the list?

I borrowed an ‘Inspector Morse’ novel from the library 10 days ago, i’ve read 4 pages. Can’t find much enthusiasm to read any book.

^^I read Gatsby a while back for my lit class. Didn’t like it much, too bleak for my tastes.

Just finished Watch The Lady by Elizabeth Fremantle… a fascinating bit of historical fiction, though there were a few typographical errors that made me wonder what the copy-editors these days are coming to.

I’m knee-deep in biographies.

Jimi Hendrix, The Ultimate Experience by Johnny Black, is the one I’m reading currently.
