Picked the next one up at an antique store while on vacation.
Mine is an original 1952 copy, but is missing the paper outer sleeve. Will start on it tomorrow.
I said this on the unofficial backup forum, but I may as well say it here. I’m still kinda-sorta reading this.
I also picked up Brain Droppings by George Carlin at the Goodwill and am reading it as well.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

Also ordered Mike Love’s bio last week and am almost halfway through. It’s pretty enjoyable so far.
Brian Wilson’s forthcoming autobiography is on my to-read-soon list.

I can’t wait for that!
Made a deal with my younger brother who is a HUGE Beach Boys fan that I would buy the Mike book and he’ll buy the Brian one, and then once we’ve read them, we switch.
The Mike one cites a lot from interviews and all, which I think is a shame. I mean dude, you were there ffs!

I think this is the 18th or 19th Dune novel I’ve read. I’ve been reading these books for my entire life, it seems. I’m not even any kind of “super-fan,” in that I can’t quote chapter-and-verse from any point in the series, and have trouble remembering the plot lines from the prior books as I start each new one. I did reread the original Dune directly after finishing the third “prequel,” and I’ve read Dune probably a half-dozen times. But still. And I can’t stop!

I just finished The Devil In The White City which was fascinating and well written and researched.
Right now it’s “Grey”… the first book of the Fifty Shades of Grey series told from Christian Grey’s POV. Don’t laugh. I needed something mindless and distracting right now. I figured it couldn’t be any worse. At least in this one you don’t have Ana talking to her “Inner Goddess”, biting her lip, and saying “oh geeze” a lot. But wait. Now you have Grey talking to his penis, Ana still doing plenty of lip biting, and, well… yeah. I’m having fun tearing it apart in notes on my Kindle.

I read that in high school. I found myself skimming through the boring World Fair parts and getting engrossed in the H.H. Holmes parts.

Have bought a few books during this trip, most of which will make up my reading list for the next few months.
Non-Beatles
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind (Yuval Noah Harari)
Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow (Yuval Noah Harari)
Seeing the Real You at Last: Life and Love on the Road with Bob Dylan (Britta Lee Shain)
Bletchley Park: The Secret Archives (Sinclair McKay)
– One of these books with removable facsimile documents and memorabilia

– This is the book published to accompany the current V&A exhibition which AG and I went to see and includes much Beatles
Beatles to Bowie: The 60s Exposed (Terence Pepper with an essay by Jon Savage)
– A photographic book published by the National Portrait Gallery (London) to accompany their 2009 exhibition of the same name; hardback edition bought in an Oxfam store in Cardiff
Properly Beatles (deep breath)
Looking Through You: Rare & Unseen Photographs from The Beatles Book Archive (Jo & Tom Adams)
– Limited numbered edition (493 of 3000), comes with facsimile of 1964 Beatles Book Calendar for 1964

– the forgotten John book, paperback edition which means I no longer have to touch my 1986 hardback first edition
The Beatles: Paperback Writer – 40 Years of Classic Writing (edited by Mike Evans)
Love Me Do to Love Me Don’t: The Beatles on Record (Spencer Leigh)
You Never Give Me Your Money : The Battle for the Soul of The Beatles (Peter Doggett)
– paperback that I can annotate away in in a way I wouldn’t my hardback
The Beatles: Stories Behind the Songs (Steve Turner)
– replaces my copy of A Hard Day’s Write and the two 1962-66 and 1967-70 volumes I have
The Dead Straight Guide to The Beatles (Chris Ingham)
– the rebadged 2015 update of his “Rough Guide to The Beatles”
and, finally
Ringo Starr and The Beatles Beat (Alex Cain and Terry McCusker)
– an examination of Ringo’s drumming on a song by song basis and much more, co-written by @Oyster Black Pearl, and just making the move from e-book to physical hardback. AG & I bought copies from him this afternoon when he kindly took the time to drive us to where Percy Phillips studio had been so AG could add to her collection of piccies of blue plaques, and he kindly signed them. Looking forward to exploring this as Ringo’s drumming hasn’t had the attention it deserves…
And breathe out…
