I lied, I haven’t got Tintin in the Congo.
What’s that? I’ve not heard of it.
Close enough…
And who’s Floyd Pinkerton?

Is that ‘Game Of Thrones’? Only thing that ever comes to mind when I see those books is and trying to remember if his middle names were R. R. or not.
There is a book called ‘P.S. I Love You’ which i always pick-up thinking its Beatley.

^ It is indeed. The 3rd book (that I’m rereading now) is the best in the series, I think.
If you haven’t watched it yet I strongly suggest you do. The tv series is very good (although the last season was dodgy until it somewhat redeemed itself towards the end). The books are even better (although the last two are a bit blah, I have high expectations for the 6th book…whenever the hell it comes out).
I think you’re talking about Cecilia Ahern’s book (funnily enough she is on the telly now). I’ve never read any of her books but I hate her dad (as does every Irish person I think- it was his government that effed up the country). I don’t think I’d care for her as an author anyways she writes stereotypical romance novels.

I finished it yesterday afternoon and I decided to read ‘Peter Pan’ next. I read and finished it last night- it’s good but I’m not a massive fan of J.M Barrie’s writing style, however I do love the characters and the whole plot, of course, is great. The ending is very touching, may have been a bit blurry-eyed when I closed the book
Now that that’s finished, I’m on to my next read:
^ I love the cover of it, it looks gorgeous. It’s also been resting on my shelves for a while so I decided it pick it up (must still be into the ‘murder’ theme since ‘A Storm of Swords’ ).

I loved ‘The Lovely Bones’, thought it was great with good narration, an original plot and the entire novel was well paced and very gripping.
After that I read ‘Brooklyn’ by Colm Tóibín, whose film adaption was nominated for a couple of Oscars this year, it was a bit meh. I enjoyed the story up until ‘Part 4’, where it just dragged and the ending was very bland and anticlimatic.
Now I think I’ll read ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ by Audrey Niffenegger, I appear to be reading a lot of more modern novels that have been adapted into film recently…

I’m reading three different books right now (although one is a play). The first is Gone With the Wind. It’s great so far, even without Beatles references. XD
I’m also giving The Outsiders another chance because there are Beatles references. It’s also good so far, which is surprising considering I don’t like a lot of what I read.
Lastly, I’m reading The Crucible, which has notable parallel to the rise of Communism but still bores me.
Only music can save us.

I have yet to read Gone With The Wind, have it on my shelf though. I’ll get around to it some time this year though.
I didn’t like ‘The Outsiders’ I thought it was a bit boring. Although the Beatle references were appreciated.

I think you’d like GWTW. I hated the movie but the book has more background on the immigration to America along with better characterization. There’s also a bit of hinted feminism, which is always nice.
^ Good to hear, I’ve never gotten around to watch all of GWTW but from all the snippets I’ve caught, I think I’ve watched it in near-entirety.
Feminism in books is always appreciated, it’s nice to read about strong female characters in novels, particularly classics. There is nothing worse than a sappy, whiny character who is afraid of every single thing when there is no just cause for her fear.

One month, then you can renew them for two weeks twice. I actually took it back to the library last week, but checked it out again a couple days later. So I get another two months.

Oh that’s very good, ’round here you get them from between 2 weeks (for children’s books) to 3 weeks (adult).
Today I finally completed my Harry Potter French collection because I got ‘L’ordre du Phénix’ and ‘Les Reliques de la Mort’ in the post, happy days.
Unfortunatly I got the new editions whereas the rest of them are the old children’s editions. They line up fine on the shelf (bar my 6th book being a large print edition so it’s twice the size as the others :/ ) but the covers are different- here is what mine look like:
Curses the design is ruined!
Ah well, a book is a book is a book, no matter the cover.

Agreed, the book is much better – you also don’t get the crazy rush of people dying when they started to run out of time in the film.
