What does that mean in English? Les Mis is a good book to read if you like Victor Hugo and are studying French. (If you’re an avid reader, though, you probably know it’s way too long.)

As for Harry Potter: Best series. What House are you in?

Gryffindor

I posted it above ‘The Last Day of a Condemned Man’. I will probably read Les Mis at some point but I know how much Hugo likes to go on rants and raves so I don’t think I’d be able to read it in French because I’d throw it across the room in anger a-hard-days-night-paul-7.

And Ravenclaw (although Pottermore says I’m in Slytherin a-hard-days-night-paul-11).

I love HP, been reading it since I was 7 and it’s one of the few books that I’ve read as a child that still hold up now (along with Roald Dahl’s work).

Pottermore said I was Gryffindor right off. I bet if I was sorted in Hogwarts, as soon as the hat touched my head it would shout out Gryffindor.

I’d probably be the awkward Harry situation where the hat wouldn’t know where to put me- while I have Ravenclaw traits like being academically motivated, I also have Slytherin characteristics such as being ambitious and determined and Hufflepuff e.g. loyal, trusting, friendly and being a good finder.

I’m a real mish, mash, mosh.

If there’s any house that I definantly amn’t it’s Gryffindor- I’m in no way brave, I have an escape route planned for almost anywhere I am in case danger erupts.

Just ordered the New Penguin Dictionary of Music. Hopefully it’s as good as the old one I somehow managed to lose during the move.

Yes, I have an Oxford one – I liked the old Penguin one because it gave more details on a composer’s body of work; I’m hoping the new one does too.

[EDIT] It’s the Oxford Companion I have – one of those weighty, idiosyncratic and highly personal references from the 1950s which some people find entertaining and I find incredibly annoying as it’s not very comprehensive and tells you more about the author than the subject matter. A bit like Neil Young’s biography Shakey.
