Haven’t seen this revived in awhile! Listening to Miles Davis’s Kind of Blue album right now.
I’ve been on a huge Miles kick recently, and at home I’ve been listening to very little besides Davis (and certain former bandmates like Herbie Hancock) for about the past coupla months. But you guyz all know that I’m not being a traitor – that I love the Beatles so much that I don’t need to listen to them alla time! And hey, earlier today I came this close to buying that deluxe version of McCartney II ! [Bought Sonny Rollins’ Saxophone Colossus and the deluxe Rolling Stones Some Girls instead; probably wait till next weekend to buy the Macca II.]

Von – if that’s being a traitor, I’m just as guilty. Except, mostly with new, alternative music, not old jazz. But, it’s great to see you back. And don’t forget – everyone goes on kicks. Me, I’m on a Coldplay kick, and am not listening to the Beatles as much. But, to get back on topic, I’m playing;
Crown Of Love – Arcade Fire.

Old Friends/Bookends – Simon & Garfunkel
Only just started listening to them really, and only just got Bookends, the album.
So the line “How terribly strange to be seventy” seems quite ironic as they are both 70 now.
I think it's great you're going through a phase, and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple of days

I went thru a bit of an abba thing, which may be seen as embarrasing but i dont care, I’ll listen to most things at least once. Have 27 songs of theirs in itunes (Dancing Queen not being one of them, abysmal song) and put them on random whilst working. Not too bad some of them. On and On and On is a cool song, it was abbasucks who posts here who reminded me of them.
Also heard the classic late 80’s song Dirty Cash by The Adventures of Stevie V, one very cool song, far better than the dance music we have nowadays.
Vonbontee, you will love the deluxe Macca II when you get around to purchasing it. The album itself is fantastic but the bonus tracks are a real delight. You can tell how much Paul is enjoying himself playing with his new home instruments.

EXACT same situation with me. My current Coldplay addiction has probably been helped along by going to their concert a couple nights ago (UNBELIEVABLE). So I’ve cycled back to them after two and a half years or so, in between which was a Beatles kick and then a Stones kick, and smaller ones in between (Radiohead, and certain songs by various artists).
However I’ve halted the Coldplay fest long enough to listen to Sunny Afternoon by The Kinks.

Hungry Heart – Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band (I am having a total Bruce thing right now. I can’t wait for tomorrow – it’s my mom’s birthday, so I got her Bruce’s new album, which we’ll listen to).
*song ends*
Two Hearts – Bruce again!
(Out of 1230 songs, what are the odds two from the same 11 song album would show up on shuffle back to back?)

Nothing.
But, so that I don’t ruin the thread, I’ll tell you all what songs are going through my head(I always have at least one going round and around).
–Act Naturally , not on of my favourites but I love the message behind it. I’m sad and I’m gonna be a big star because they think I’m a good actor, when, really, I’m not actually acting.
–My Sweet Lord .Not a Beatles song but sublime nevertheless.
-And last but certainly not least(how dare I even suggest such a thing?), Helter Skelter .That song that I always play to people that say that the 60’s was all slow lovey-dovey stuff *ahem*. Are you sure? Yes. But are you really sure? Ye, umm, no. No? That’s better.
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.
