Bill Frisell, album of John Lennon music, 'All We Are Saying…'
Amazingly good. Took me a while to get into it, just because it's sometimes hard to hear different versions of these songs. But it's fantastic.

I don’t even know why, but I find that song enormously cheering. I’m always smiling by the time he finishes the “two gurus in drag” line. It cracks me up.
"Now and then, though, someone does begin to grow differently. Instead of down, his feet grow up toward the sky. But we do our best to discourage awkward things like that."
"What happens to them?" insisted Milo.
"Oddly enough, they often grow ten times the size of everyone else," said Alec thoughtfully, "and I’ve heard that they walk among the stars."

I love how John sings 'Peter Brown called' in the Ballad of… That song has really grown on me over the years and now its up there as one of the best beatles singles what with Old Brown Shoe as the b-side.
It's Not My Fault – Buddy Holly (the Norman Petty overdubbed version from the 'Reminiscing' album). One of Buddys best songs ever. I love Buddy Holly, always have. A musician who was willing to do different things with his music, not just rehash the same song over and over. A true legend who died far far too young. I cannot write highly enough of him.

Because of you SunKing.
I saw this in a list of Songs to hear in your funeral. I saw Arcade Fire. I thought “SunKing” and I clicked on play.

The Mick Jagger and David Bowie version slays me especially the music video! It makes me laugh so hard.
Speaking of Jagger, currently listening to Torn and Frayed by the Stones
