Little Wing is great! My fave Jimi song. I'm currently trying to play it on guitar actually, and I'm getting destroyed by it. Absolutely destroyed. I can't get further than a few bars.
So… I'm listening to nothing right now per se, but before and after I make this post I am listening to myself trying to play Little Wing.

Midnight Train To Georgia- Gladys Knight & The Pips
After some memorable moments of doing normal college activities that can get me in a ton of trouble, this song has been stuck in my head all day.
I love the song September. I was listening to it on repeat on the 1st. Good luck JET! on trying to play Little Wing. May Jimi be with you on your quest to rocking out.

The place to start with Jimi is this chord:
0
7
6
7
8
x
Now combine that chord, which is an E7#9 with a G and A, use barre chords if you can, and there’s most of the rhythm for Purple Haze. Remember to use the open E on the E7#9 chord to keep it smooth. You just have to build your way up.
I’ve never tried Little Wing, but the riff is fairly simple from Purple Haze and the guitar solo is manageable. Also it’s a really good idea to get a tabbed out book of his songs, otherwise you’ll spend weeks of frustration doing something maybe correctly, but the thing about Jimi is that he played in tune with Noel Redding, the bass player, and sometimes that’s down a half step or even full step. That’s what makes Jimi so great, he had such command of that instrument.

Interesting. I'll have to try that one.
I'm really enjoying Little Wing. The thing about it is that there are so many variations on it. You totally have to do it your own way, which is what Jeff Beck and Clapton and everyone else is doing. That's what I would do if I was more in command of my guitar. For now, though, I laboriously (is that a word?) figure it out bar by bar. When I do get it down though, it feels natural, muscle memory. I'm probably not playing it the way Jimi did but it feels good.

Essential Trip Of Hereness by Sheryl Crow. A strange kind of song, completely from left field.
