almost a companion piece to “Good Night ” – a “Good Morning” maybe, even though he semi-used that title already in a much different frame of mind regarding domesticity…
Listening to punkrock

More 1977 ladypunks – ok, pretty often it’s just sludgy hard rock, but Joan and co. absolutely had the attitude

Little Steven’s Underground Garage channel on satellite radio; I like their format, heavy on punkish hard rock, rockabilly, psychedelia and classic soul from the 50s through now…nice to have a station where I can hear/have heard Dusty Springfield, the Sex Pistols, Beach Boys , David Bowie, Marvin Gaye; and the band playing now…

Falling Down by Musethanks @Beatlebug this is one of my favourite songs ever now 🙂
holy frick I don’t remember mentioning it to you but I ALMOST did because I heard it and it made me think of you (I guess it was the underappreciated-teenage-musician-angst vibes )
Anyway I’m currently listening to Tom Petty’s debut solo album, Full Moon Fever, released on this day in 1989.
Good vibes

Javanaise (from the album Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano, 1975)
Claude Bolling, piano
Jean-Pierre Rampal, flute
Max Hédiguer, string bass
Marcel Sabiani, drums
[the album cover is amusing: a jazz piano in bed with a classical flute smoking a cigarette (blowing smoke rings no less!), who has prostituted her classical virtue in this “unseemly” relationship]

That was nice! Opening phrase reminded me of Thelonious Monk, and the 5/4 time of Dave Brubeck.
Now playing: “King Cobra”, from Herbie Hancock’s second album.
(Recorded March 19, 1963 …Beatles rock the Regal Cinema!)
