Thanks @Beatlebug!! Those are fascinating details about the album and Matt. I always felt bad because we almost never had black temps work for us. The entire data entry workforce in our area was of Asian decent. I kind of went out of my way to make them feel welcome, even allowing the use of my office as a changing room (the Baptists like to dress up for services). So I hated the way we parted. For some reason learning about Matt is kind of healing and closes an open psychic loop. Maybe its just knowing he was searching as well, so the whole episode had a higher purpose. Thanks for taking the time b-bug. After 20+ years its time to take another listen.

Big hype around Julian’s pop debut during my senior year of high school….1984 was a sensational year for pop radio, and for 2nd hand Beatlisms, beginning with John’s “Milk And Honey ” hits and continuing through “no more lonely nights” and Julian’s emergence …happy birthday Jules!
Was looking for new Beatals podcasts, found one…and then found the host’s name vaguely familiar…and then his voice recognizable…and it turns out he’s Paul Romanuk, who was a familiar sportscaster on Canadian TV; I used to hear him do play-by-play of NHL hockey games frequently when I followed the sport, which I hardly do anymore. (I frequently mentioned, in the impossible-to-derail thread, many years back, how my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs would win any time a Beatles song was played within the arena during play stoppages. Happened at least 2-3 times!…Anyways, sports dude is not only a sportscaster but a music nerd and Beatles fanatic, so he’s got an all-Beatles podcast called “The Walrus Was Paul”.
Which I’m listening to.

yeah, I preferred it to “Valotte”, singles wise
Some Detroit hard rock proto-punk…The Beatles offhandedly reference this song during studio chatter in between takes of “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer “

Speaking of Julian, I always liked “Too Late For Goodbyes”
P.S. If you want 7+ copies of that album and you’re in the Memphis metro Sheffield’s Antique Mall is where to go.
I am currently listening to Julia .

My health is gone so listening to all of Paul’s music (unreleased, released, fan creations) that’s on my iphone on random (not his entire career as I don’t like much of it from the 2000’s onwards). It’s pretty f*****g incredible.

Was:
A collection of bits and bobs that Matt Bellamy recorded separately from Muse, mostly during The Great Plague when the band members were unable to convene and Matt was bored stuck at home, compiled in 2021 for Record Store Day.
The Jaded Hearts Club started life as Dr. Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band, a one-off supergroup of some mates (including a certain Mr. Bellamy on bass) who got together to play some Beatles covers for a friend’s birthday party because they were too cheap to engage a pwoper Beatles cover band but they all enjoyed playing together so much that they did more gigs (including one of Stella McCartney’s fashion shows, where Sir Paul Himself graced the stage with his presence on a couple of songs) and eventually recorded this album of various other covers. I never did get around to listening to it before, so here I am now….
Next: I think I may compile a playlist of songs that Muse have covered… I’ve really been digging their covers of “Hungry Like The Wolf”, “Popcorn”, and “Sign O The Times” lately.
