I’m back on the Palomino Club in Hollywood on 19 February 1987. George, Bob Dylan and John Fogerty have gone to see Jesse Ed Davis supporting Taj Mahal. When Taj takes to the stage, Georgie soon decides he’s joining in and bounds up on stage, not long after Fogerty decides he’s not being left out and joins them, with Bobby eventually being dragged up to the stage as well. Taj’s planned set quickly goes out the window as it turns into one of the great superstar jam sessions.

Amazing that, while not the best quality, we have footage!

Abba – Just A Notion
I’ve been struggling to understand why they didn’t release this on Voulez-Vous, it’s actually pretty good… Much better than, say, The King Has Lost His Crown.
Only a few days until the new album!

Didn’t know there was an album, I thought it was a couple of songs (one more has been released since I was paying attention).
They do sound like Abba when they were ABBA and not a group trying to sound like Abba trying to be modern. Big credit for that.

Bjorn spoke about the song recently and was asked why it was unreleased at the time:
“Why did we decide against it? In hindsight, I don’t have a clue. It’s a good song with great vocals. I know that we played it to a publisher in France and a couple of other people we trusted, and as far as I can remember they liked it very much. So it’s a mystery and will remain a mystery.”
Only 2 days to go!
I’m currently listening to Cambodia by Kim Wilde. One of my favourite singles from her that was released 40 years ago.

Decided to quit listening to “Heart Of Glass” by Blondie on repeat and listen to Cloud Nine real quick, in honor of its anniversary yesterday (I listened to it yesterday in the car, but I’m doing it again because… reasons) before I embark on my Steven Wilson Birthday Binge
