Oh my! This is a real gem! So many threads this could have been posted in, so may appear elsewhere later.
People know that one of my fascinations with Dylan is that his work is never fixed, that he is always playing with it – unlike most of his contemporaries who are still mainly playing their songs same as they ever were – with him not only playing with arrangements, and this one is sublime, but even changing or adding lyrics to classic songs. Listening to a Dylan bootleg and heard a live version of Basement Tapes-era track Tears of Rage, from Boone, North Carolina on 7 April 2004, and found myself listening to a whole new verse that I’d never heard in any other version, and it had me breaking into a big grin.
Was delighted to find it’s on the ever-reliable YouTube. The new verse starts just after 4:50, I’m putting the lyrics in a spoiler so that those who want to hear it blind – as I did, having to check again I had heard in the first two lines of the verse what I thought – can…
I’ve never been to Strawberry Fields
I’ve never been to Penny Lane
But I’ve been down in the Willow Garden
And I’ve ridden on the Hellbound train
And I want you to know
Just before you did go
Where to find me, case you needed to
It was early dawn
You were long gone
Before anybody knew
Tears of rage…

jeez, how do you keep track of so many album anniversaries? hahahaha
My brain is like an event calendar.
(plus I put them all on my google calendar and get event reminders on the day )
Speaking of which…

Since My Bloody Valentine have finally reuploaded their music to streaming (before you boo me, I also own Loveless on vinyl and CD), I’ve been binging their catalog. Particularly obsessed with this track :

Vera Chuck and Dave, Von BonteeI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

It should be there as part of the 1988-1991 compilation, @vonbontee , unless it’s not been uploaded in Canada for some reason. Hopefully this works –

yeah, the EPs comp isn’t on Spotify for me either, unfortunately
it’d be nice to get Ecstasy and Wine on streaming too, it has one of my fave songs of theirs

This is fecking insane, the audience at a Green Day concert in Hyde Park, London, in 2017 slay Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody when it’s played over the PA before the concert… This is before Green Day have played a note, and a Queen recording has already stolen the show…
