Von Bontee, Dingle Lad

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Been really getting into The Pogues over the past couple of days. Great mixture of a punky spirit with Celtic music.

No problem at all, Bebu!ahdn_george_05

Generally they sounded original and I was expecting nothing less so it was very nice. They’re sonic evolution is uncanny and I love most of their detours into electronics, which I’m very much into. I still have to re-listen a lot but yeah In Rainbows was the most solid. I even though Pablo Honey was actually good.

Although as of now, I’m a little overwhelmed by the reputation of OK Computer and Kid A. Those albums are solid 8/10 for me but I’m not into that whole idea that they’re the best albums ever and such but I guess I’ll see if they grow on me. Still there are some fantastic songs throughout the whole thing.

I wondered if there could be a better record in 1997 but in my experience Ladies and Gentlemen is still the best of that yearmccartney-shrug_01_gif

Thanks to @Von Bontee, I’m listening to the American Graffiti soundtrack. This is one of the highlights. Actually there are lots of them.

…and conversely, you’ve inspired me to throw on some Allman Brothers!

Yep, Donovan’s song is the source for both “Mountain Jam” and also some Grateful Dead thing, did it on “Anthem of the Sun” and probly live too, but I’m not the most knowledgeable (or huge) Dead fan.
