Honestly Pink Floyd’s social media game is on point. They really do a good job with their community posts and such, they’re always interesting, often cool historical tidbits, and all in all it feels quite a lot more personal than a lot of old bands’ social media. Like it’s a bunch of Pink Floyd nerds who scored the best job ever, but also very professional.
I’ve always had a deep respect and I mean that most sincerely…
Maybe under other circumstances I’d join a Pink Floyd forum or something but I barely have energy to keep track of this one. Besides, when it comes to the Beatles, I know the songs and history a lot better, with Floyd I’d just feel ignorant and I’m too lazy to catch up
@Beatlebug the Pink Floyd sound forum isn’t too bad either

Aside from some communities I’m in on Facebook and Discord, other music forums on the web don’t seem to be nearly up to the standard of this one, both in the design of the website and the community. Plus we do a fair bit of non-Beatles musical discussion to scratch that particular itch. This is the place to be
It’s the Beatles, man. They, just like peace itself, bring everybody together.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I tried to do a Zeppethon on my long road trip, and honestly got pretty bored with it after I started LZIII. Maybe too much of a good thing? I felt weird turning it off but I was about to fall asleep. Switched over to a Who marathon and felt like a king. Maybe I finally must admit that I like the Who better? I don’t know maybe it was just a weird thing. I’m obviously a Zeppelin fan and Ive enjoyed their discography many times, but listening to it all at once was a struggle for me

I absolutely loved the Zeppathon I did on Jimmy Page’s birthday, it was almost a transformative experience for me and I didn’t know what to do with myself afterwards. I haven’t listened to a whole lotta Who, mostly because every time I do, I wish I was listening to Zepp.
Takes all sorts to make a world.

I’m feeling hella sexy
Thank this post if you feel hella sexy too
Also side note: story time.
Last year when I graduated high school we went to our Diploma Ceremony and we got to stand up on the stage receiving out diplome to whatever song we wanted to put on the speakers. Everybody put silly sentimental songs. Adele and such. I put on this. ‘Cause I was feeling hella sexy that day too.

I’m jealous– I want to here whatever song I want on the speakers when I graduate! (knowing the chaotic bits of myself I’d probably choose “Within You Without You ” or “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer ” just to f**k with everyone, but if I were to be serious I’d just graduate to “Hey Bulldog ” b/c that songs makes me feel cool as hell) but at graduation at my school its just all silence as the teachers read our names off the list and we walk up and get our diploma, and then like the concert band plays Pomp & Circumstance, which ngl I’m gonna miss playing those trumpet parts for those songs.
Currently listening to:
The first time I listened to this song I got so excited because I instantly recognized the loop from “When I’m Sixty-Four ” and then later in the song I gotten even more excited because they sampled even more of Sgt. Pepper and “Back to the USSR”
I’ll listen to all of Paul’s Boutique later, probably, b/c I’m really itching to hear all those cool samples in action ngl– they sampled so much cool stuff: the Beatles, the Band, Paul McCartney , Pink Floyd, the Ramones, Donovan, &tc, &tc

“Abbey Road ” is a good comparison because they sample “The End “, plus “B-Boy Bouillabaisse” is a huge medley that fills 2/3 of Side 2. And the album cover photo was even likewise taken from the middle of the street.
I’m sure I could conjure up other connections if I gave “Paul’s” a deep-dive listen.
