Haven’t listened to KKB in a while so I’m just enjoying the most wholesome song of all time
Haha didn’t you call them “better than the Beatles!” or something similar last year?
A statement I would stand by

Heh, I’ve been in an Innervisions mood today myself, though my pick of choice for the day is ‘He’s Misstra Know It All’ (the piano playing is just )
Right now I’m obsessed with yet another Fiona Apple song, this time ‘The First Taste’.

Just listened to that album yesterday. It really lived up to the hype, I really loved it. And I gotta say I wasn’t liking Sufjan’s music up to that album (Michigan, Seven Swans) but it really surprised me.
I also felt The Age of Adz was kinda bad.
Not listening right now as I’m doing other stuff but later:

I am very sad you didn’t like Age of Adz, I love that album. Hopefully you’ll appreciate Carrie & Lowell though, it’s been one of my go-to sad albums for years now.

Janelle Monàe – The ArchAndroid
OMG what good timing…I was just thinking about this record – you mentioned it last year and I wanted to hear it yesterday I couldn’t remember the title, or ultimately the performer’s name! (I’d suspected it was indeed Monae but ruled her out.) Thought I was going to have to try to describe the cover…
Anyways, I’m listening to Prince’s 1978 debut, “For You”

You should give it a try @vonbontee it’s a very ambitious and satisfying album with a lot of different styles. I love the Afrofuturist concept as well, it’s very Sun Ra.

I bought new wireless earphones and my word they are good, the sound quality is a considerable step up and the last pair were really good.

Yeah, some very cool sounds! I listened to it last year several times on YouTube (following bebu’s example) and really liked what I heard…but the uploads all went silent in their final minute, presumably to avoid copyright.
Now I can stream properly.

Oh god no @vonbontee most of the songs on that album run into each other, you simply must what them in full
I mixed up What Goes On with Honey Don’t earlier so now I have to listen to Rubber Soul in penance.

I gave Carrie & Lowell my first listen about an hour ago and I liked it but I was overwhelmed by how steady the production end of things is considering Sufjan’s previous ambition. But the opening and title track are particularly very good melodic songs. I’m not a very “depressive” music listener, but I give credit were credit is due, the album’s purpose is completely fulfilled. It’s just not the kind of vibe that I’m used to.
It is just my first impression though, it might grow on me.
But I’ll say this: there is NO way it’s better than Illinois. That album has instantly become a fav of mine and it’s way more varied. I’d give C&L a 7/10 right now (just like Melon lol) and Illinois a 9/10 (someday it might go up to a 10/10). Age of Adz is like a 5/10. (All of these first impressions tho don’t quote me on the future).
