I couldn’t choose between 1 and 3 so I decided “why not both on shuffle?”

I actually enjoy every MJ record significantly less than the previous one, but there’s still a pretty good single-length album buried somewhere in “Dangerous”

I also listened to A Saucerful of Secrets and Meddle.
Right now I’m GETTING THE LED OUT as I do on Saturn’s day –
Led Zeppelin – In Through The Out Door (1979)
*I thought this was the album cover because of the filename, but upon publishing the post, I realized it was actually a drawing I had done for the album’s releasaversary the year before last.

I’ve gotten into a musical rut where I get so overwhelmed by the amount of music that demands to be listened to that I just give in to intimidation and I only feel like listening to the Beatles discography over and over again– which is great because the Beatles are fantastic except I just feel guilty listening to Rubber Soul or Revolver for the one billionth time this week when I can be ~discovering~, y’know?
That being said I’m currently listening to With the Beatles

^I need to get into a Beatles rut…
Don’t worry about ruts right now, you can wait till Gemini season to discover things.

vonbonteeI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I completely identify. A couple of days ago I was like “ok I can dive into King Crimson, maybe continue with my Coltrane or I could really get freaky and listen to national rock”. I ended up listening to Abbey Road the whole way through and went to sleep. I still don’t know if it was a wasted or gained day.

Definitely relate to both of you. I’m also just generally bad at discovering new music.
That being said, I am currently listening to the album Squeezing Out Sparks by Graham Parker for the first time (my dad has been recommending it to me for maybe half my life at this point). My dad always grouped him together with Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson (both of whom I enjoy very much), so this should go well.
