I’m listening to “Those Were The Days” performed by Mary Hopkin and written by Paul McCartney *. Mary Hopkin has a good voice, her version of Ave Maria is wonderful. I could see Paul singing this song, I’m not sure if a version exists.
*Edit: Produced by Paul McCartney , my bad. Thanks @Ron Nasty.

Produced by Paul, @TangerineTrees, but not written by him. It’s a Russian song, Dorogoi dlinnoyu, written by Boris Fomin and first recorded in 1925. Gene Raskin wrote English lyrics in the early ’60s, with it first being released by the Limeliters in 1962.

I meant to listen to Animals too (Nick’s drumming on that album is especially on point), but I just about fell asleep in the middle of DSOTM (I remembered almost nothing between On The Run and Money), so I called it a night there. I did listen to Animals today, though.
Anyway, right now, I’m listening to this lovely Tibetan ballad, which was so politically inconvenient it got its author arrested:

BeatlebugI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
