Ooh, that’s a good question. There are quite a few good contenders for the best 21st century band. In terms of consistently making good albums, Sleater-Kinney are up there (though their latest isn’t particularly great), though I’d also nod to The Microphones, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Swans, and Big Thief. I think the most consistently innovative and creative band would have to be Death Grips, but generally ‘band’ refers to rock bands, and they don’t make rock music so it feels a little odd to include them under the heading.
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I enjoy Book of Mormon, the score for it isn’t very memorable but Turn It Off is a gem. Nothing is better than suppressing your inner gay.
I need to watch that play so that I can sound more authentic and experienced when I say that the book is better. However, like everything else on my watch list, I’ll get to it sometime.
I’m currently listening to Wingspan by Paul McCartney . The US version with the live version of Coming Up .

^I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Christmas until after (American) Thanksgiving. Partly because I believe in seasonal timeliness and it’s still fall where I live for a while yet, which is a season I greatly enjoy and want to cherish every bit of; partly because I feel like it’s unpatriotic to disrespect Thanksgiving; and partly because Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.Today is a beautifully cold, wet, windy, rainy day and so I’m listening to Phillip Glass’s Symphony No. 1: Low and this on repeat:
WHY IS HE SO PERFECT I love how he’s elegantly serious/seriously elegant for most of the song and then the acoustic drums come in and he turns into an embarrassing dancing dad
tHANK you for both of these things

@Beatlebug My bad, I didn’t mean to ignore Thanksgiving. It’s just that I do not live in the United States of America, not at the moment or in my life previously. I’m sure it’s a lovely holiday.
No, I figured you aren’t American so I don’t care if you want to start Christmas early. I was just speaking on my personal feelings about it.
I’m currently listening to one of my great favorite Bowie albums, the wonderfully atmospheric and philosophical Heathen, as I’m feeling both of those things today.

Rather liked the version of Do You Want To Know A Secret ? used in the Cadbury’s Chrimbo ad @AppleScruffJunior posted in another thread. Thought I’d look up the singer, Mathilda Homer, and rather liking her…

Currently listening to “Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The Sex Pistols”. An integral album to the history of British pop, and (as many of you probably know) one of the greatest inspirations for the 90’s grunge rock scene.
Highlights for me include “Holidays In The Sun”, “No Feelings”, “God Save The Queen” and “EMI”.
