Oh, I thought you were talking about that one earlier. I’m listening to the Anthology one now (which I realise you must have been alluding to previously) and I do see what you mean about it sounding creepy. Cilla’s demo with Paul sounds seductive to my ears, while Paul’s demo has a Maxwell kind of feel to it

After not listening to any music for a while I’ve been enjoying Anthology and Live At The BBC . I’m still giving the studio albums a rest for now, while still getting a Fab fix.

Don’t think I’ve watched this video before: Iggy and The Stooges’ free concert in Toronto, 19 June 2010. (Dunno if I’m visible in the crowd; I never made it onstage). A memorable show; sadly, all the musicians save Iggy and bassist Mike Watt (ex-Minutemen) have since passed away. Baby boomers… 🙁

Released on this day in 2006, Muse – Black Holes and Revelations (probably their best/most accessible album, in my never-humble opinion).

Is that the one with Knights of Cydonia and Starlight? Two of their best tracks
I’m afraid I’ve fallen behind on my King Crimson quest, so I think today I’ll pick up the slack and listen to the next instalment, whatever that is.

BeatlebugI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Yes. Also the well-loved ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ and ‘Map Of The Problematique’, not to mention the outstanding ‘Soldier’s Poem’, ‘Invincible’, ‘City of Delusion’, ‘Hoodoo’, and too many other great tracks to mention. It’s their Revolver in my mind.
Currently listening to ‘It Don’t Come Easy’ because RINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

So cool to hear the slightly extended ending (and to more clearly the excited Percy babbling without fuzz guitar interfering with the frequencies)

Hahahaha I love excited Percy babbling. Though it’s particularly cool in the beginning, before he starts babbling, where it sounds a little more intimate than the regular mix.

And dig that big ol’ fat bass too! (In the Beatlebug house we stan Jonesy on principle. )

Yeah, that’s one of my favourite vocals. I like what Robert Christgau had to say about III in his 1970 review: “If the great blues guitarists can make their instruments cry out like human voices, it’s only fitting that Robert Plant should make his voice galvanize like an electric guitar.”

@Beatlebug: My parents got me a big postcard of the AHDN album cover (as well as a few others), and I have framed them and put them on my wall. I remember from the other day,the choosing between 2 things thread how much you like the cover .
