“Today’s hits, yesterday’s classics!” local radio station just played “Golden Years”, followed by Thin Lizzy.
(Also in that rock block: Def Leppard, April Wine, and some dude or dudes who AREN’T ancient, so don’t ask me who they are.)
Now: Peter Gabriel, who wishes to be our sledgehammer.

I adore Waterloo Sunset, if there is one song that I could only listen to for the rest of my life it would be WS.
I went to see Juliet, Naked in the cinema a few months ago, and Ethan Hawke sang a cover of it. Took me by surprise, and I actually really like his version of it- it’s rough but still quite beautiful.

Ahhh, Mr Brightside, the national anthem for anyone under 40.
If I could nominate a pop song to replace the national anthem- it’d be Mr Brightside, you’re born knowing the lyrics.

Must be a UK and Ireland thing, every single party, every single nightclub, Mr Brightside will be played at some point during the night and everyone knows the words.
Also you’re doing a disservice to yourself in not knowing the words, Mr Brightside is love, Mr Brightside is life 😉
