I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Love this so much: Lou+Sterling (guitars) and John (organ) all race to be the first to hit 11 on the amps, while Maureen (and what better name for a pioneering 60s rock drummeress?) bides her time…only to overrule them all. Thanks, Mo!

The following people thank vonbontee for this post:

Beatlebug, QuarryMan

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

YAY! ahdn_john_08_gif

BH&R is probably their most accessible, kinda their Revolver if you ask me. ‘Assassin’ is great. paul-mccartney-thumb_gif

Currently listening to ‘the ten-minute prog nightmare’ (only available on the digital version a-hard-days-night-paul-3) from their 2015 album Drones:

Listening to this cool new album I discovered today. A mixture of free jazz with spoken word political stuff on top.
