Asjr, it’s Steve Knopper’s “The Genius of MJ” I just started.
I’ve never heard Dangerous, or much of anything he did after Bad, so I appreciate your opinion!

I Love Say Say Say. Off The Wall is probably my favorite MJ album. Its the Falling In Love is an absolute gem.
I still think it’s a good song just on OTW it’s the weakest link on a very solid album.
I love the prechorus. I listened to it again after this discussion and its not gonna leave my head for days

Glad you have been listening to some Elliott, @50yearslate ! If I were you I’d go with Either/Or next, that’s my favourite album of his. ‘Between the Bars’, ‘Say Yes’, ‘Ballad of Big Nothing’, ‘Speed Trials’ and ‘No Name #1’ (which is from his debut, Roman Candle) are my favourite songs of his.
RE: Michael Jackson discussion – I play the Jackson 5 singles quite often, but there is still a lot of MJ related material I haven’t heard. I don’t think I’ve heard Bad in full.

Von Bontee, 50yearslateI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

One of my favourite Zeppelin deep cuts — even though it’s a mildly exasperated heartbreak song, it just makes me happy to hear it.

Yay Fiddy finding more songs to enjoy!
As for “Bad”, I’ve only heard it fully a few times myself; will no doubt give a re-listen later on. (I spun Thriller again, and reevaluated…and still find Thriller the lesser album, even though “Girlfriend” is maybe my most disliked song on either album, oh Paul. )
I love this song, literally always timely

Dangerous is very much an R&B, pop, hip hop album- it’s quite different from anything he did before (but then again every MJ album is different from its predecessors). You’ve probably heard some of the singles on it- Black or White, Remember The Time, Heal The World…and if you’ve watched Free Willy (which you know, is a must…) Will You Be There is the theme to it.
Even non-MJ fans will have heard most of the tracks off BAD, they are his ‘iconic songs’ outside of Thriller’s 3 killers.
I really like Girlfriend (prefer Michael’s version a lot more than Paul’s), it shows off his vocal talents.
In keeping up with the Jackson theme, currently listening:

…it’s a BEATLES forum. Of COURSE most of us are not Stones fans — Beatles or Stones? most of us chose the Beatles.
