‘Stay’ – David Bowie
Such a strangely haunting and yet utterly groovacious avant-funk song, too often overlooked in Bowie’s enormous catalogue. I could eat that instrumental track, with its delicious bassline, delectable percussion, and sublime co-lead guitars, for brekky, luncheon, and tea.

You’ll be pleased to know I honoured that (being the incredibly massive Ledhead that I am, of course…) by listening to Whole Lotta Love. Bloody awesome drummer he was…

Pink Floyd – Obscured By Clouds, released on this day in 1972 — in a tree, on a very cloud-obscured day. @50yearslate I highly recommend it, ’tis perfect tree-listening — the cover is an out-of-focus bloke in a tree, after all.
The Beatles – Sgt Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band, released on this day in 1967 — not in a tree.

I don’t know. Thriller is, song for song, pretty hard to beat, (and has Human Nature on, my favourite song of his) but I do like Off The Wall for how fun and lively it is.

I think Thriller has a coupla higher highs, yes; but also a few lower lows. Worth debating tho, such a super pair. I’ve never loved “Girl is Mine” (“Say say say” I think is kinda terrific)
Playing it again rn, later Thriller (and probably some J5 after that => just started reading an MJ bio)

*slides into chat* I enjoy Off The Wall a lot, and its individual songs by themselves are fab- the only one I’m not “this is great” on being It’s The Falling In Love but his vocals are still outstanding on it.
Thriller is also a fantastic album however it’s nowhere near my favourite MJ album, I much prefer BAD, Dangerous, heck even Invincible to Thriller.
We can all agree though, that OTW should have got more than “one lousy Grammy nomination” 😉 .
What biography are you reading von?
I’m currently listening to ‘Chaos and Creation…’. I have dumb projects that I don’t want to do for college and 2000’s Macca is helping me get through it. I listened to C&C.. last night as well. So…thanks Paul.

I still think it’s a good song just on OTW it’s the weakest link on a very solid album.
It’s interesting that a lot of you here seem to prefer OTW, all the circles I drift in, Dangerous is overwhelmingly the favourite album (it has those pop bangers- Who Is It being criminally underrated!)
