Am: ‘Little Lamb Dragonfly’ – I randomly thought of it this morning and have been listening to it repeatedly off and on.
On repeat. Just re-learnt it earlier too (it’s got weird chords). I’ve not got a problem

I’m at a concert right now with my parents… it’s instrumental jazz I’ve never heard before so I don’t exactly know what I’m listening to.
I guess the fact that I’m on BeatlesBible right now shows my interest in jazz… but I’m having a good time.

There are several jazzbos who post regularly here and scoff at John Lennon ‘s anti-jazz sentiments!

Indeed, John’s dislike for jazz does frustrate me somewhat, but I will assume that it was because he hadn’t heard the best stuff yet.
I’m on a big Arcade Fire kick lately, so I’m making my way through their albums. My favourite song has to be Wake Up, it’s such a cathartic and beautiful song:
Children don’t grow up
Our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up
We’re just a million little gods causing rain storms
Turning every good thing to rust
I guess we’ll just have to adjust

I thought he had no kick against modern jazz? 😉

I really like the guitar work in it, and Starman is cool, but this isn’t a first-ear masterpiece for me. I’ll revisit it soon.

It wasn’t a first-ear masterpiece for me either– the brilliance didn’t hit till the second listen. It’ll come. Don’t worry.
Listening to Oh Woman Oh Why on repeat because it’s a thing of beauty.

There’s a staaaaarrrrmaaaaaannnnn waiting in the sky
I just listened to this 1975 Miles live album, Agharta. It’s…. pretty intense. At times even more so than Dark Magus, which I thought couldn’t be topped in that regard, with a seven piece lineup as good as any Miles brought together post-Kind of Blue. I enjoyed it a lot, but now it’s time for something more relaxed, so I’m going for Sketches of Spain.
