Appetite For Destruction by Guns N’ Roses.
I was thinking about giving “Rocket Queen” a spin last night, but didn’t.
Taking a cue from Matt and playing the New York Dolls
Fantastic song from a fantastic album. The only two songs I can do without is You’re Crazy (I prefer the slow version) and Anything Goes but two bad songs isn’t too bad.
And in the end the lunch you take is equal to the lunch you bake.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I’m listening to the Arctic Monkeys’ “Four Out of Five” and hearing David Bowie.
And now the very same alt-rock station is playing an actual COLLABORATION between David and the Monkeys!

…is what I was GOING to post, before I double checked and realized it was actually an Arcade Fire collaboration. Always confusing those two bands whom I’ve barely heard.

There’s probably only about half of the album I’d still care to listen to today (and those are indeed two I’d jettison), but the best songs have surely lasted the test of time better than your average sampling of late ’80s hair metal. (And I’ve owned that album so long that my copy is an ’87 one with the original gross rapey cover)

On the recommendations of several BBers, this evening’s homework-finishment-aid-soundtrack is Rubber Soul by that band. (I already Bowied myself out earlier.) So far it seems to be serving me well.

Beatles Binge time. and sometimes
I’ve got my BeatAlls playlist going (has all the canon things on, I think — I may be missing YS and Anthology tracks) and I’m just skipping around it indecisively. Maybe at some point I’ll settle down and commit to a steady relationship particular era.

I’ve got a playlist of all the canon stuff in chronological order… it’s about 9 hours long. Maybe one day I will have the time to sit down and absorb it in one sitting.

Yeah, same. I usually end up spreading it over a couple days off-and-on. I did try to listen to it all during the drive to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, since that was about nine hours. (I think I got interrupted anyway. )
Anyway, I’m listening to the Labyrinth soundtrack now. Love me some ’80s fantasy film soundtracks

I’ve got a playlist of all the canon stuff in chronological order… it’s roughly 108 hours (there’s a couple of alternate mixes included). I haven’t got around to listening to it in one sitting. Doubt I will.
Currently listening to Dylan bootleg Whatever You F*****g Feel Like: 1991 Fall Tour of the United States. Volume 4 of 6, track 7, Roving Gambler.

I composed music for a Labyrinth tribute short film a couple of years ago during a course I did. I remember going back to the accommodation every night and cramming as much Bowie as I could in the hope that some of it would rub off on my compositional skills… not sure if it did

Ziggy – ‘Moonage Daydream’ – My brain is about to melt in 5… 4…. 3…. 2… 1…
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
seriously though this guitar solo is like making love whilst going into space, Major Tom-style never to return, and you can see the Earth in the background. It’s very cinematic.
