Currently listening to Lou Reed’s Rock N Roll Animal live album. The guitar playing is insanely good.

TheWalrusWasBrian, Von BonteeI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

You’re right that Holey’s right, and I’m ashamed to say I’ve made this mistake before… my brain just wants to remember that album as being from 1962 for some reason, I think it’s getting confused with the singles Love Me Do and Please Please Me .
I’m reeeeeealllllly not on the ball today with the historic maths it seems

I’m listening to Nina Simone’s Pastel Blues album for the third or fourth album, and it’s continuing to completely blow my mind. “Sinnerman” and “Strange Fruit” are on another level.

Hope you like it, @Shamrock Womlbs !!
Well, i already knew this album. Listened to it a lot when it came out. Really fresh and innovative folk.
It was good to listen to it again. Breath of fresh air in a moment of mental blocking at work.

So glad to find another Microphones fan on the forum! What are your thoughts on the first track? I found the 10 minutes of drumming before it starts offputting at first, but it’s definitely grown on me.

David Bowie – The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars (1972)
Beatlebuggered version of the tracklist with ‘It Ain’t Easy’ removed and ‘Velvet Goldmine’ preceding ‘Suffragette City’ for what I feel is a more authentic ‘Ziggy the bisexual alien rockstar’ concept-album concept experience.

Yeah. It could be a bit like “what the f###? ” but i like it. It also depends on how i am listening to it. If it’s just sounding while i’m doing other things it’s ok. If i’m focused on the music it could be a bit expendable.
I think it might have been intended as something of a barrier, which is a pretty amusing idea. Either way, it’s worth it once it gets going because it’s all uphill from there (no pun intended) to the peak with the ‘big black cloud’ chanting section.
