Oh @50yearslate it’s so much better in context. Go listen to Station to Station and you’ll understand it*… which is why I don’t understand why they’d single it out like that. It simply isn’t meant to be. It isn’t nearly great enough on its own to attain such a prestigious rank…
*or maybe you won’t, it’s a pretty odd album

It’s also my favourite, mostly.
Anyway, I can think of at least three songs from the album that would have been better candidates for Best Bowie Song Ever (title track, Golden Years, Word on a Wing), and I’d personally have nominated/expected “Heroes”…
…back on topic, I need to listen to something besides my sister singing the same thing over and over and over and over and over

What a high recommendation I may just have to check it out…

Word On A Wing is so beautiful, definitely one of Bowie’s best tracks.rnI’m completely addicted to this song since I watched Lost In Translation for the first time in a while and realised what song Scarlett’s Johansson’s character was singing in the karaoke scenern
@Beatlebug does this belong to you?
Edit: Nevermind, this post belongs to QuarryMan.

OH WAIT WAS THAT YOURS
sorry bout that goddamn post stealing
Hehehe I’m not sure what happened, since I don’t remember typing the mention of Beatlebug at the bottom, so I guess that part must be you. Looks like our posts merged, but you were credited
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

@QuarryMan The flood-control thingy happened and your post showed up in my reply box, and I added the Beatlebug part because it mentioned Bowie and so I assumed it was Beatlebug. I only posted it because I didn’t want her/you to lose your response. Guess it was you though, sorry for the mistake
Love one another.

No problem! Very amusing actually I suppose it will be strange for anyone who happens to be reading through the thread, but I think we’ve covered that part now.

This is like the third time today that it’s happened, so strange and confusing
Anyways, to get this thread back on topic, I’m listening to Reality. David’s version of Try Some Buy Some is not at all bad but it just makes me want to listen to George
Love one another.

I went hunting for this clip that I had a vague memory of discovering in my early days of Beatles fandom and found it. Maybe this isn’t the perfect thread to post it in but I’m sure anyone who hasn’t seen this will want to, it’s the Anfield crowd singing She Loves You . Gives me goosebumps every time, since I’m so used to hearing large crowds singing Oasis songs over and over.
