Oh, Beatlebug …
I’m listening to The Rain Song.
Yay, Fiddy’s about to adopt a second band to love! (and Beatlebug chose a great one to steer her towards!)
Whoa, whoa, hold your horses, VB!
I’ve only heard one song, don’t get too excited. (Though it was a very good song. Look how much I’ve grown!) Besides, I plan to investigate Pink Floyd before Led Zeppelin– I just don’t have any PF on my phone.
…
Oh, right, better stay on topic.
Before: Woman Don’t You Cry For Me, Beautiful Girl, This Song, See Yourself
Currently: It’s What You Value
Next: True Love, Pure Smokey, Crackerbox Palace, etc.

Meh, not a Zepp fan.
Did I @tt you?
(kidding of course )
Listening to to Ziggy Starrdust right now, was listening to Transformer by Lou Reed. I need to get some Beach Boys out because it’s been mid-seventies all day around here… my god, the dirt pig was right.
1. JEALOUS.
2. No it wasn’t, nothing’s changed in my neck of the woods… yet.
3. Dirt pig?!?!?!?! The groundhog isn’t going to bring you any presents spring next year if you talk like that!
4. I wonder if the Easter Bunny and the groundhog know each other…
and this is how threads get derailed, isn’t it. Whoops…
Love one another.

It is inDEED a very good song. It consistently stays in my top 2 Zepp songs, which is saying a lot because I FECKING LOVE LED ZEPPELIN *typing whilst wearing a Led Zepp shirt*
But by all means get into the Floyd before Zepp, you’ll find that they are totally polar opposites and both essential to a well-rounded classic rock education. (I actually don’t understand people who don’t like Zepp, though I can almost see why a very unwise person mightn’t like the Floyd. Sorry Walrian. )

I mean, I can definitely understand the issues people have with Zeppelin, as I have a few myself. But as @Beatlebug said, they are certainly an essential part of any music fan’s education, along with Floyd. When you’re ready to embark on their stuff, I’d recommend starting with either their first album, or their fourth. My favourite songs are Ten Years Gone, The Rain Song, Going To California and Ramble On.

BeatlebugI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

^Solid choices.
Okay, fine, I can see why some might find Robert’s voice a little annoying, or Bonzo’s drums too loud… but they sound perfect to me
I’d definitely start with their first album for historical context, but I realise that their fourth is probably going to be a little more accessible to most — or Houses of the Holy, that one reminds me of Revolver for eclectic sunshininess.
Currently listening to Wild Life by Wings and feelin’ the nostalgias.

Houses of the Holy is the one I have so that’s the one I plan on starting with.
There’s an interesting mix of styles on there. I’m all for listening to albums all the way through, but be warned that HOTH is probably their most experimental album, so if you don’t like what you hear it’s not necessarily typical of their output. The Rain Song is on there though, and that has to be my favourite song of theirs. It’s pure bliss, and you might notice Jimmy “quotes” Something in the first two chords.

Good to know, thanks for the heads up.
Right now I am not listening to anything, but hopefully I’ll be listening to George Harrison (the album) very soon!
(just gotta wait for it to finish uploading…)

I’ve only got the deluxe versions of Zepp I and Physical Graffiti. They’re pretty cool.
The wizard-friend recommended this to me and I’m enjoying it, though I have no idea why as it’s not in my usual sort of lane at all…
