^’God Only Knows’ is fecking amazing, too bad Bowie utterly butchered it when he covered it. Bowie + ‘God Only Knows’ was a combination that could’ve held such potential, WHY did it have to be on Tonight…

Offline Hey, I kinda like that one. I mean, of course the original is better, but I don’t mind that. Of course, I don’t have quite as much of an attachment to Working Class Hero as I do to God Only Knows, and I’m rather fond of Tin Machine…
With Bowie it seems the covers are either very hit (Wild Is The Wind) or very miss (God Only Knows) or just plain WTF (Across The Universe )… Stick to songwriting, David*!

Offline I have been listening to a Beatles playlist that I am working on. I am considering calling it the Ultimate Beatles playlist. It is kind of a mix of Past Masters and the 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 compilations with a few extra songs thrown in.
Once I am happy with it I’ll post it here.

Offline Lol are you using earbuds or playing it through the speakers? It’s not half bad through earbuds but I agree, music + phone speakers = total crap.
Glad I could inspire you to bless your ears with one of the greatest albums ever to grace this universe. 
And I’m listening to Dark Horse … in my head because there is too much background noise in my house to listen to music rn.

Offline Stop at the end of side one and put side two of the actual record on. I use ‘sides’ as a convenient breaking place all the time, even (especially) when I’m not listening to a record.
Funnily enough, I listened to most of Revolver earler (got interrupted right after For No One , alas)… Right now I’m Listening to this on repeat because I have a problem.

Offline @TheWalrusWasBrian it’s from Never Let Me Down which is one of his mid-Eighties slump albums (the other being Tonight, which was even worse), but the 2018 remix really brings out the song. It’s not perfect, but it’s an improvement in my opinion (though the original had more Peter Frampton on it, so that was pretty cool too).
