I like Syd much more than Roger.
I think he preferred Roger in later years. Syd was his past self which he didn’t feel particularly connected to.
Currently listening to his one and only full album with The Pink Floyd (as they were often called in those days), The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967).

I actually haven’t listened to music for a long time since I’ve been away. When I Get Home , I’m gonna change that. Beatles time.

Apples and apples
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Also @50yearslate it’s worth noting that the first band I got into after the Beatles was Pink Floyd. Great was my guilt for a short time as I realised that I loved the Floyd as much or more (More??!??!! Ummagumma?!?!?!!!! Okay maybe not More but definitely just as much) as the Beatles, but it passed in time and my life has been richer for it. They’re definitely the kind of band you have to listen to in full albums, so, y’know, just saying…

I’m trying not to be intimidated by the handy yet immense guide…
I will tackle it someday, but I’m not quite ready yet, emotionally and financially.

Did you like the song?! Been ages since I’ve been into Floyd, but they are 100% essential listening for any music fan.

I did like it. Beatlebug was right (as always), the guitar was gear.
Maybe try Breathe (In the Air), Wish You Were Here, Time, or Us And Them.
