I’m afraid RN I take part in Tom Scott’s Pogues challenge where you try to avoid Fairytale of New York throughout the festive season (which is practically impossible). I have just finished my 3rd successful season, and have extended it into a year-long challenge, it is challenging but very rewarding.

I totally understand the point you’re making, ASJ, but…

I kept them with my own
Can’t make it all alone
I’ve built my dreams around you…”
Everybody…

If immensely resistant and ungrateful, this is an almost acceptable stand-in…
A very good song in its own right, a great recording, but still… it is no…

Truly a splendid work of art, eh? Fun fact: this song was made the year that everyone thought was going to be the last year of human existence.

I attempted a similar thing this year with Wham’s Last Christmas, called Whamageddon. Unfortunately I only made it to about the 13th before someone played it in one of my classes. Amusingly, everyone at my work was knocked out of the challenge at our Christmas lunch when it came on in the restaurant.

I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Oh I’m not cool enough to know what that is.
Lol just some dead and annoying meme where part of that song is played over a still from a movie with the phrase ‘to be continued’ across the screen. The internet needs new ideas .

Yes! Why does nobody like Good Night ? I’m not even a Starrfish and I love it.
Edit: also I have done enough derailing for one day so I’m listening to It’s All Too Much .
