As I was bathing this morning I started singing Golden Slumbers .
So I lighted my vanilla pumpkin candle and took the big, black Beatles box off the shelf and I’m listening to Abbey Road as I eat breakfast. It’s my first Beatles listen in a couple of months.

So many names in the history of pop music I’ve been oblivious of, like Lee Hazlewood. I “discovered” him by pure serendipity. I was YouTubing for various covers of the old standard “Green, Green Grass of Home” and went through quite a few famous and not-so-famous ones. Then I happened on Hazlewood’s, and something about him made me want to investigate further. His wikipedia article intrigued me, so I began to listen to a few of his songs over the decades. Uneven, but very interesting. Apparently, he absconded from the music biz for a good 20 years from the 70s through the 90s. So I was curious what his 1999 album sounded like, and I only found one selection from it, his cover of “Makin’ Whoopie”. It was so deliciously smart, I went ahead and ordered the CD, titled “Farmisht, Flatulence, Origami, Arf!!! & Me”.

a coffee dessert, yes you know it's good news...
