I’m currently listening to that Jeff Lynne/ELO/Travelling Wilburys show on BBC R2 that our beloved @Ron Nasty mentioned in the “Upcoming…” thread.I’m sorry, @meanmistermustard. I know how much you dislike Jeff.
No idea why you’re apologising, I’m not listening to it. Unless mods have the power and authority to demand what you all listen to.

I listened to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Music as well as the Red & Blue Album compilations for the first time ever today. I mean I’ve heard all the songs before, just not in that order.

In exchange for a much-required apology feel free to send me the exact amount you have paid for bootlegs over the years.

In exchange for that calculation you are required to send me all of your bootlegs in the mail.
Also, I don’t feel I’m being ripped off because my school blocks all websites that have bootleg downloads available. I’ll have to wait another year to get a new computer of my own without blocks, so getting this material 3 years early was worth it to me. Also, I’m not necessarily supporting the artist, but I am supporting my local record store. I also engaged in meaningful Beatles, Dylan, and Beach Boys discussion with the owner, and because of my relationship with him and others, I have been connected to the editorial team of Beatlefan magazine out of Decatur, Ga. There are definitely better ways of obtaining bootlegs which I’ve recently broken into, but for a while, I liked going to the record store for bootlegs. I prefer not to get filled with regret about how I “wasted my money” in my earlier years.

If you cannot access the net to download bootlegs and/or you want to spend the money on them then that’s your choice and if I make you or anyone else feel bad over that then many apologies.
The ‘Anthology’ series turned me on to bootlegs and I saved up to buy stereo digipack versions of ‘Please Please Me ‘, ‘With The Beatles ‘, and ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘, which came with bonus tracks along with one of the original ‘Get Back ‘ albums. A week later I went and got the stereo ‘Beatles For Sale ‘ to complete the first four. They were so damn awesome and sent me down a truly wonderful path that I would not exchange for anything. For 5 years or so I would go and hunt down bootlegs to buy and loved hearing the alternate takes, demo’s, BBC material etc. Sadly as time passed the market changed and it became more noticeable that what were on offer were crappie homemade copies of bootlegs, many of which suffered from CD-rot making them unplayable. There are many good stores out there still selling genuine copies, same as there being many good online sites where you can download it.

Rubber Soul Purple Chick was my first bootleg. I remember being particularly blown away by the In My Life piano solo played at the original speed. I also likes the ten minute take of Think For Yourself . Once I got my hands on Revolver , It was over. I was so intrigued I couldn’t stop listening to, reading about, or talking about The Beatles.
I found put later my dad had the full Get Back rehearsals, but never bothered to upload them to the computer so I jumped right on that.

I know they’ve had many mentions on here but I’ve been listening to lots of episodes of Something About the Beatles. Each show is exceptionally good and I seem to learn something new each time. Just listening to the “Winter of Our Discontent” Part One episode and there are so many good bits like McCartney teaching Let it Be to the others and working out the harmonies. I’d never heard The Beatles working out their harmonies before and always wondered about the process. Also some great versions of George’s songs which were never realised. I can’t recommend it more highly.

I listen to Something About the Beatles religiously. It’s not always great but it’s usually at least interesting and often excellent. Their most recent one is a fantastic 2 hour remembrance of Allan Williams.

Same here. I wonder why they didn’t use that kind of stuff in the Let it be film.

Nasty Picks (Volume 2).
A very good, in my opinion, set of Bob doing 14 of his greatest songs diffently.
Some surprising twists and turns.
Currently an outrageous version of Tangled Up in Blue from 1976 is playing.
