My Beatles 1+ blu ray which I just found out is a German import. I don’t know how I missed that. Maybe I forgot. Don’t worry it’s all in English, so I don’t have to go through any funky directory to set the language. I like having imports sometimes because it spices things up.

Here’s a a little heads-up. The Word podcast which I highly recommend just had an interview with Hunter Davies and he tells some good anecdotes about writing the authorised biography. It is a little annoying when he occasionally wastes time giving details about aspects of Beatles history which everyone knows but on the whole well worth a listen. You can listen here http://wordpodcast.co.uk/2016/…..e-beatles/ or it’s on itunes.
Also check out the archives as they’ve had lots of Beatle related discussions over the years.

I’ve found a really good oldies station, 50s-70s. Lots of songs more modern artists that i thought were theirs are covers (I thought I knew music pretty well, haha charade I am). There’s always more to learn – like when I was watching a movie from the 30s and the melody of um, Blue Moon I think, popped up! Anyway I got in a mood, and actually have my phone hooked up to my tv speakers because my laptop sound jack is messed up…
Ok the link won’t display, it’s a doo-wop playlist – like I said it’s a mood 😉

Recently I’ve been listening to misc. Led Zeppelin tracks. For Bonzo. I miss him.
Have you ever checked out Heart, or Jason’s band? I saw them in 2013 (Jason opened & played great zep covers, Heart rocks zep like nobody else, and they closed the show with a set together). I’m sure you can find some on youtube – they’re good, and you might feel better seeing Jason pay tribute to his dad…
here’s a starter…(why won’t youtube links display anymore?)

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ve seen the Kennedy Center Honours, and not really anything else. Heart really did a great job with Stairway! I’ll be sure to watch/listen to more when I get the chance.

9CDs. 139 different covers, ranging from traditional songs to contemporary covers. 22 of them done twice, giving a total of 161 performances.
Of the songs, well over a hundred have no official version.
It includes a track I have hunted for for years, a one-time only performance of Nowhere Man from 1990. It ain’t bad. Nice arrangement.

I’ve been listening to waaaayyy too much Muse lately…
This song contains what is quite possibly my favourite Muse song quote: ‘And no one thinks they are to blame/ Why can’t they see that when we bleed, we bleed the same.’
