Nice 🙂 Floyd yet again Silly Girl? The acoustic guitar sounds like he went for an open tuning and just messed around, bluesy style. 🙂 I wish I had his talent! Your Floydy post just reminded me of ‘Obscured By Clouds’. I still have the vinyl version in my garage. I remember I bought it because I liked the simple short title track and I’d seen the trippy film that went with it with a school friend. I didn’t really understand the film but I don’t really care because all Floyd music is good to me. Except ‘Be Careful With That Axe Eugene’ at the point were he clearly wasn’t..

Pink Floyd are only (just barely) second to the Beatles for me, so YES, More (pun intended) PF

Obscured By DSOTM Clouds is indeed a good one. And I love ‘Careful With That Axe, Eugene’! It’s so trippy and Nick’s drumming is out of this world. Course there isn’t much Floyd I don’t love, but believe me, it’s out there — I especially hate A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, the title of which suits the album perfectly to my mind. My favourite Floyd period is probably the pre-Dark Side era.

@Beatlebug
I’ve never been a huge fan of Momentary Lapse Of Reason. That is, until the other night when I saw The Australian Pink Floyd Show. They played On The Turning Away off of Momentary lapse. It kicked ass! I mean, what a great song. I’m glad they played it because it turned me on to a new edge of Pink Floyd. The post-Wall era is very reflective, but never fails to experiment with new sounds. I came home from the show and played A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, then played The Division Bell. Both albums are actually quite good.

On The Turning Away has been one of my favourite songs of all time since the release of the album.

They started playing it, and it didn’t sound familiar. Heavily centered on lyrics and with acoustic strumming I thought, “Is this Pink Floyd?”
Me two minutes later: “Hell yeah that’s Pink Floyd!”
Graceland turns 30 today so I am listening to that.
Boston turns 40 today so I will listen to that next.

I don’t know what you thought Pink Floyd was before, because lyric-centered acoustic strumming is hardly rare in their ouvre.
‘Unintended’ – Muse (I’m on a Muse kick at the moment )
