Little Richard’s Specialty Sessions. Amazing how laid back the first take of Long Tall Sally  (when it was just known as The Thing) is compared to the frantic ballbuster it ended up as.

The Ghost At Number One by Jellyfish.

Ahhh Jellyfish. Loved that band, man. Stayed together way too briefly, gave us only two brilliant albums.

Pet Sounds – The Beach Boys

I’ve tried to listen to it several times, but got interrupted every time. I seem to be making better progress this time around; hopefully I’ll finish it this time.

I honestly haven’t listened to this song, or many other George songs in a long time. Feels good to be listening to this again 🙂

Decided to give The Wall an (undeserved) 3rd chance.

Halfway through, I wish I could just skip to Comfortably Numb and be over by now.

I made a playlist devoted to Pink Floyd songs that feature Rick Wright, keyboardist extraordinaire; either composed by him, sung by him, or just his having a large part in the song. Currently on ‘The Great Gig In The Sky‘.

Gone Troppo George Harrison

I’m really diggin’ this album at the moment– especially ‘Greece’, great and rather rare (in George’s oeuvre) acoustic slide on that one. a-hard-days-night-george-9

EDIT: After making that post, I came to the realisation that a lot of what I had previously passed off as steel guitar was possibly acoustic bottleneck slide. It’s hard to tell sometimes.

I may be a while…

Though I have, obviously, listened to other things along the way, disc 18 is playing.

Next up, from the same label…

16 discs. Everything Chuck that survives bar the soundtrack to the Keith Richards’ organised concert/film.

I may be a while…

I love Bear Records…

Listening to Smiley Smile, actually. Decided the other day to listen to all of their albums chronologically and so I’m at Smiley Smile, right now.
