I was listening to Sia’s album This Is Acting. It was all right–there are some good harmonies, lyrics, and high notes, but otherwise it’s pretty basic. Sigh. I wish I could acclimate to at least some modern music.
“Take Me to Church” is a good modern song. It reminds me of John’s comments about the Church having you suffer to be saved.

Walls And Bridges is a beautiful John album (maybe I’m biased because it doesn’t have on it.)
I’ve also decided #9 Dream is a sequel (per say) to Strawberry Fields.
I just finished the thing and I’m starting over again.

No worries– I never quite managed that myself. Apart from Muse.
Listening to ‘Act Naturally ‘ off Yesterday and Today right now.

Listen at your own risk!
Sysyphus Part II is much nicer… at least at first.

Certainly not Ummagumma (studio album), that’s for sure. I just finished listening to the whole thing, and my conclusion is that approximately 93.5% of it was a waste of vinyl. (The remaining 6.5% comprises ‘Sysyphus part II’, ‘Grantchester Meadows’, and some bits of ‘The Narrow Way’ which I can’t recall at the moment).
Now listening to the reassuringly sane and un-experimental Beatles For Sale .

Was reminded of my old friend Moira Lambert today, and am on my fifth listen to the Neil Young cover she recorded with Saint Etienne that became a great rave hit. I always say if you’re gonna do a cover, do something with it. I wonder what Neil thought of this when he heard it…
And, no, that isn’t Mo in the video. This is Mo:
They got someone else in for the video because Mo didn’t want to fold Faith and join Saint Etienne.
