These girls are just awesome:

[MonaLisaTwins – If I Fell ]

They performarrative at the Cavern quite often as well 🙂

Thanks for that, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, and I just realised that those girls didn’t even change the genders so cool! a-hard-days-night-george-4

Honestly would not have noticed if I didn’t give it a great deal of thought myself because I never change the genders when I sing ’em… ahdn_george_06

I liked it too, but only because I love If I Fell so much. I wonder how many hundreds of times I’ve heard it?  Still, that opening narrative just stabs me in the heart. The lyrics!  The melody! The harmonies! God , it’s so good.

The following people thank georgiewood for this post:

Beatlebug, O Boogie

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

This Boy is my favourite! It’s feels so vulnerable and endearing. It’s been my favourite Beatle song for quite a while now.

I think MonaLisa Twins are really good, as a tribute band and as songwriters as well. They respect the Beatles’ style and don’t butcher their songs unlike some, and I respect them for it.

Listening to: This Boy

Does anybody else think Ben Ramon when they see @Evangeline’s avatar?

I like them both equally, but I think If I Fell has a stronger lyric.

The middle section of ‘This Boy ‘ wins it for me but both songs are great Lennon ballads.

Evangeline said I always thought This Boy was better than If I Fell

I always felt that “If I Fell ” should have been a single http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk38/rickdelsie/The%20Beatles/parlread_zpslnbiufdi.gif

And for whatever reason, when I hear it, I think of this album cover.  Probably was the first time I heard it when I bought the album, is my guess. heart

It was

A rare UK single, with Tell Me Why on the b-side, was pressed in the UK by EMI and released on 4 December 1964. It was made for export purposes, but a number of record dealers began shipping the discs back into the UK for resale. The catalogue number was Parlophone DP 562.

Really?  That’s an interesting fact that I did not no mr.m.

I could see it being a US Capitol single, but Parlophone?  Cool, txs for that!

EDIT: It was a US single: 20 July 1964  Capitol 5235, with And I Love Her .
