Listened to a disc of Minimalist classical last night. Steve Reich’s 6 Pianos and John Adams’ Shaker Loops were interesting and I particularly liked the Violin Concerto from Philip Glass.

Today I heard a 1981 vinyl release called Guitar Man by Elvis Presley. Then I heard Revolution 9 backwards (Satan, Look At Me …Turn me on, dead man). Then I listened to an early Beatles bootleg called Dawn of Modern Rock. Then I heard five mellotron instrumentals by The Beatles. Now I’m listening to all the Led Zeppelin studio albums in order. I’m up to Houses of the Holy.

Last night was a disc of Opera arias. I’m still not a huge fan of opera, though I do like some of them – but the disc had some really great tunes and singing.

Haven’t played it in a while, ’twas one of my favourites back in the day. @sigh butterfly ye might wish to check it out.
Hi @Beatlebug, love love love it! I own several Narda studio CDs including a retrospective that includes these artists, but never encountered this gem. I will definitely seek it out for purchase as this is the type of music I listen to all the time (perfect for meditation). In fact I’ve sent a good part of the day listening to Emerald and staring out the office window doing just that. Next best thing to actually being in Munster, County Cork where my ancestors are from. In particular the song Shadow Dancer is currently playing on repeat inside me head. Thanks SG

@pepperland, I enjoy that one too. The Live Peace video makes it seem like it was a pretty tense atmosphere that night. Have you seen this version of Yer Blues from late 1968? Seems a little less stressful and Eric’s solo is a lot louder. John even gets Eric to smile for a second. My favorite part though is when the solo ends and there’s a slight break before they finish the song with a little shuffle (perhaps Keith’s doing). The beginning is a little skit featuring Mick and John (what is Mick wearing – my daughter wore that exact same ensemble for 3rd grade pictures 🙂 )
