I like that song @natureaker . My daughter makes mix CDs to listen on the long drive to her University. This one always reminds me of the windows down, warm wind blowing, sun setting, and the music cranked up loud . Guess what, at our company Christmas party some of the 20 something ladies danced to Marina and The Diamonds “I Am Not A Robot”. Sounded good and they were pretty impressed I knew who she was – thanks to you 😉
Speaking of “I Am Not A Robot”, that’s what I’m listening to right now

It’s Christmas, but I’m listening to the Beatles on Spotify. I now have every single Beatles and Lennon album for free. This is something that I will appreciate for the rest of my life more than any temporary Christmas gift. For the year, I’ll appreciate my Rolling Stone magazine subscription…. Listening to the Beatles on Spotify is truly the best Christmas miracle.

A Norwegian (wood this bird has flown) choir singing Christmas carols on the telly. I’ve no idea what they’re singing, but ’tis right lovely.

I was listening to some dreadful Suzi Quatro song as ‘Big Hits: TOTP 1964 – 1975’ is on in the background. Its now the slightest less dreadful but still awful ‘When Will I See You Again’ by The Three Degrees. The sharp decline in the music from the 60’s songs they played to the 70’s crap that followed is startling.
And we’ve slalomed rapidly downhill and hit the revolting Hot Chocolate track ‘You Sexy Thing’. TV on mute.

Why were you listening if you hated it so much? (I think You Sexy Thing is great but then of course I would)
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

It screened performances from 1964 onwards and for the main the music was very good just tailed off towards the end.

I’m trying out Google Play’s Beatles radio channel. It’s interesting so far, except for one thing…THEY HAVEN’T PLAYED A SINGLE BEATLES SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s all been post-Fab John/Paul, the Kinks, Orbison, Pink Floyd…
I only just realised that was because it wasn’t available on Google Play. Now it is– I tried it just now and they played Yesterday , good stuff
Now– if they’d just play more George Harrison …!
I’m happy with my CDs, I was just curious…

Whilst out and about am listening to the Boxing Day edition of BBC 2’s ‘Pick of the Pops’ which counts down the top selling singles of 1966, 1979 and 1989.
‘Eleanor Rigby /’Yellow Submarine ‘ was the 13th biggest selling single of 1966 and its quite apparent how different it is to the rest of the songs in the chart. Was also surprised to discover that Chris Montez (he toured with the Beatles in 1963) appeared in the ’66 countdown with ‘The More I See You‘. I thought he vanished from the charts after Beatlemania took hold. Its a good song too.
