George Harrison – 33 & 1/3
I am liking it better this time than on my first listen, though the production isn’t quite to my taste. George improves upon repeated hearings, I’ve found.
Beautiful Girl is probably my favourite– funnily enough I can tell it’s an earlier Harrisong melodywise, now amn’t I perceiving?

Gail Farrell and Dick Dale singing a Brewer and Shipley classic. Described by Lawrence Welk at the end as a “modern spiritual”. They really don’t seem to have any idea what they’re singing about…

Thanks @Necko, your song lists always KICK-OFF my Friday nights with some musical inspiration. I’ve got me some Dizzy Miss Lizzy in the car so we’ll start there. Also I gotta tell you, I haven’t heard Disguises in at least 40 years. I’m hoping I have it at home on one of the compilation CDs.

I think that it was originally on an EP, and some reissues of the album A Quick One have it as a bonus track. I’m not sure about what compilations it’s on.

Thanks, I can’t remember if I have the reissue or the original CD. I know I have the expanded The Who Sell Out reissue. The bonus song In the Hall of the Mountain King sounds like maniac surf music.

Currently reveling in Eric Clapton’s languid, dreamy guitar work and George’s heart-piercing vocal.
I’d Have You Anytime at all, George

Yes @Beatlebug – that is a wonderful recording and song. To tell the truth, I’ve primarily been listening to XM radio over the last year. I have around 1000 CDs that I’ve been ignoring . You, @Necko , @trcanberra and others have inspired me to go in and rattle my music cupboards and I think I’ll start here (well probably side 3 first because like a daft person I’ve been waiting for XM to play Sir Frankie Crisp for about 6 months now) 😀

Gad! What have I been missing?!

The sound of gun (and laser, and strange plasma thingies) fire – my son is finally playing his birthday copy of Halo 5 after we had to wait overnight for a 9GB patch on our incredibly slow internet connection.

Why do you need to download a patch for a game you just bought? I dont understand the world of video games. When i was playing them you got a disc and put it in the drive; downloading didnt exist for them.
