I have just finished listening to the album which is apparently the top selling disc in Britain over the years; with one of the tracks (according to the liner notes) being partly responsible for John Lennon returning to the recording studio for Double Fantasy .
Volumes II and III will hit the stereo in the next couple of days.

Just finished listening to Volume II – not quite as consistent as the first though still very good for a band going into their second decade.
The final one looks like an “odds and sods” collection put together after Freddie died; but some of the tracks look interesting so I will probably give it a spin tomorrow.

Ha ha.
It’s an interesting list with Abba at number two and the Beatles languishing in third.
The clue was in my subsequent post of course.
It’s the Queen boxed set, with the first volume being the top-selling one. The 2011 remasters sound really nice.

^ And I just finished listening to Volume III, which was patchy – but enjoyable enough. It’s listed as being by Queen+ because there are a number of collaborations on the album.
And, considering the bunfights we get into over The Beatles “canon” – they must have a whale of a time on Queen websites.
A song recorded by Freddie for a band-member’s solo album but now with a new backing track, a track with the 3 surviving members, a song recorded by the whole band but with two new instrumental tracks, Another One Bites The Dust with a rap vocal added by Wyclef Jean after Freddie died; and on it goes.
