Were you influenced by the Grammy Awards Show last night? 🙂
I love Florence + The Machine — a good friend recommended them, they were $4 to download on Amazon, 'nuff said.
Mumford and Sons was also on there. They seem pretty good, and I've heard lots of people like them, but I'll have to listen to them more before I make any decisions, I think.
I'm not listening to anything at the moment — I thought I was going to have a dog show in the background and it turned out to be WWE Wrestling instead.
I was influenced! As much of a crapfest it was yesterday, there were some good stuff to come out of it. Like I've been recommended Florence and Mumford & Sons stuff, but last night I just was inspired.
Grammy recap: Loved Mick's performance. Really showed that even at 67 he ccan definitely out perform a 16 year old. Bow down! The jolene impromtu performancce was amazing because it wasn't gimicky. Just lovely. *listening to it again righ now so it seems that I am still on topic* Barbara was amazing like always. The Aretha tribute was pretty good but it could have been much better. It just made me love Florence and Jennifer Hudson though. The Mumford/Avett Brothers/Bob Dylan was grand. Folk rock is now making a stance in pop music and I love it. Though Bob Dylan really sounded like s**t. Sorry for teh language but it was the truth. I even enjoyed Cee-lo. I love “F— You”, anotehr karaoke song when my friends decide to actually go. Arcade Fire's first performance wasn't that great but their second performance was better. Katy Perry putting wedding pics as her background was actually cute despite the fact I hate her songs. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS PRETTY CRAP. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KILL THAT NEED YOU NOW SONG. grr music can get me a bit worked up.
Currently listening to Wake Up Everybody by John Lengend and the Roots featuring Common and Melanie Fiona.
I heard the Rock made his way back to WWE. I'm sorry your dog show wasn't on.

Oh, music can get me worked up too, trust me. My best friend told me today that that Need You Now song got song of the year( or something like that) so I just smiled and nodded because she is a country fan ( :/ ) and she would be offended if I told her I couldn't stand that song. It REALLY gets on my nerves.

Why is everybody always hating on “Need You Now”? I find it a perfectly acceptable song and the duet my senior friend did with his twin sister was that song and it sounded great. I really like it.

It was good at first for me, but when I hear it 10 times a day when my sisters radio is on it gets on my nerves. I have heard it WAY too much.

The song was so overplayed. I hate when good songs become overplayed. Use Somebody by Kings of Leon is an example. Even Hey, Soul Sister by Train. Popular radio stations don't know the definition of variety I swear. I'm also not a country fan. Johnny Cash is teh only country singer I can tolerate enough. Besides, isn't Need You Now about phone sex? “It's a quarter after 1, I'm a little drunk and I need you now.” Idk, I may be wrong, but thats what I got from it.
On topic: Wake Up- Arcade Fire

There are a lot of refernces in that song in general. It just makes the song epic in its epicness.
American Pie has been referred to as “the history of Rock & Roll in under 9 minutes”.
You are correct – references abound.

Wishful Thinking — Wilco
I was listening to Pandora's Indie Rock station and guess who showed up there? That's right: The Beatles. Cry Baby Cry and Michelle are apparently very little known indie rock hits. Little known that they are indie, anyways. 🙂
