And you know you’re a hardcore BBer when you can’t stop thinking of ASJ while listening, instead of thinking of the proper 1960s Apple Scruffs .

Thanksgiving Weekend 1972
Doug Sahm (vocals, guitar) is bored. He’s in Austin, it’s Thanksgiving, and he’s bored. He decides to see if he can put a jam together. He rings up a club who say yes to that night if he can pull something together. Leon Russell (vocals, piano) is in town. He makes a call. Leon is in. The Grateful Dead had played in Austin the night before. He makes a call. They have a day off. Jerry Garcia (vocals, guitar, pedal steel) and Phil Lesh (bass) are in. They get a couple of people in from local bands – Jerry Barnett from Shiva’s Headband (drums) and Mary Egan from Greazy Wheels (fiddle). Benny Furrman, bassist with the 13th Floor Elevators turns up. They give him a fiddle.
Last person to arrive is Doug Sahm. They’ve waited for him. And then play two sets over two-and-a-half hours.
It’s a soundboard. Mix ain’t always great. Feckin’ brilliant show. Can’t recommend enough.

Or at least, I was, and now it’s in my head. As you may have seen, this happens to me frequently.

The only thing I have listened to so far today has been the court Registrar 🙂
Later it will be the new CD I mentioned in another thread – Bat Out of Hell.

I am a big fan of a music rhythm video game franchise titled ‘Rock Band’, and about two days ago the first 6 songs of the setlist of Rock Band 4 were officially announced. Out of those 6 songs that were announced this one is my favorite:
“You Make Loving Fun” by Fleetwood Mac. It’s what I am currently listening to right now.

I’ve been listening to it ever since I heard it yesterday evening during the intermission of a play I went to. In my head. If you know what I mean.
