Sounds good.
I’m listening to my son playing on the XBox One with his friends – sounds like lots of shooting and explosions. Beatles would be WAY better

Please Please Me — “Anna (Go To Him)” right now. I’ve been neglecting my Daily Record duties lately, so I’m going to do ’em all (except WTB, BFS, and LIB , which I don’t own yet) in chronological order today, if I can. I need a fix ’cause I’m goin’ down.
PPM —AHDN —Help !–Rubber Soul —Revolver —SPLHCB –MMT–WA–Abbey Road
That’s Real Love !!!!
(” @Starr Shine?, you come and ask me gi-i-i-irl, to set you free girl, You say he loves you mo’ than me, so I will set you free, go with him.)

Listening to this, not bad. (Terrible album title though!) I’ve heard their name lots but never actually heard them, or wasn’t sure if they were actually from the land of Arcade Fire. I listen, think they remind me of Apples in Stereo or Neutral Milk Hotel, and I look it up and sure enough they’re all part of the same “Elephant 6” collective.
I’m nowhere near the end yet, but I understand there’s a 17-minute epic to look forward to. Sure would love it if they stretch out like “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” or “Sister Ray”! (Or “Helter Skelter ” or Zappa’s “King Kong” even)

Huh, certainly wasn’t expecting a long mostly-solo piano excursion for that big Of Montreal finish. It’ll be awhile before I play that record again – too much “baroqueness” or whatever, and too-mannered vocals – but I certainly enjoyed it.
Now watching this for the eleventh or twelfth time – my favourite performance of this incredible piece of the half-dozen or so I’ve heard/watched. Anne-Sophie Mutter and Lambert Orkis performing Beethoven’s “Kreutzer” Sonata for violin & piano. (Opus #49 if you’re counting) Stunning 18-minute first movement rocks, fast third movement a little less so, and the bit beginning about 22 minutes in is the most alluring thing I’ve heard all year.

Now listening to the mono “Helter Skelter ” and wishing I could plug the guitar in but it’s 11:00 and the neighbours have a baby.

You’ll have to fill in for Ringo if it’s mono. Or I can do it– loud enough so you can hear it.

Back on topic.
muzair just posted this over at the Song structure and terminology thread, to demonstrate the chord progression of the song, and I love it! I especially dig his “horn solo”. I suppose he was on a Revolver kick around then.

Oh Boy asked the band leader of the Blues band at the BB King’s Blues Club (that’s where I am now) if they knew any Beatles songs. He played a few notes of Day Tripper . I yelled out a woo-hoo and the guy said “She listening. She knew that one.” They are taking a break right now. Oh Boy talked to the leader again. He wanted to talk to me on the phone from across the club. He told me they would try to do a little of the song. He asked if I was going to record it. I said sure I would. He said, jokingly “maybe we shouldn’t then”. But he assured me they would try some of it.
Even our waitress is excited about this. I’ll let you know how it goes.
The band leader’s name is Preston Shannon.
EDIT: they put their own spin on it. They didn’t sing the words to it, but they played the music. It was the biggest applause and crowd reaction they got. Go Beatles!
