A very nice member, private messaged me the Please Pleas Me album and I am enjoying it very much!I like the shouts at the beginning “one, two, three four”- who is that? I think it is Paul but I am not 100% sure?
Yes, it is Paul.
Fun fact: For the album version of I Saw Her Standing There , the music was from Take 1, but the “one, two, three, four!” count-in was from Take 9.
I'm Necko. I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.
I'm also ewe2 on weekends.
Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

A capella rendition of Leave It:
Don’t look surprised, you knew I’d find one.
And Yes had an a capella version of their own:

Not my favourite period of Yes but I always liked that track – both the original and the acapella. Nice arrangement of voices.
I’m listening to a boring ol’ Beethoven piano sonata. #5.

Yeah, I could still happily listen to maybe 2/3 of it. (moved on to “Eroica” now)

‘Day Time Night Time’ by Simon Dupree and The Big Sound.
I only mention it because the end reminded me of Paul’s 12 years later hit ‘Daytime Nighttime Suffering’.
‘Granny Takes A Trip’ by The Purple Gang was on earlier (i’m listening to a May 1967 episode of ‘Where Its At’) and its good song.
Plus we got the Beach Boys ‘ ‘Then I Kissed Her’ which i would have sworn blind was a single in 1964/5 yet wasnt actually released as a single in the UK until 1967 as a stop-gap. I wonder what The Beatles would have said if EMI had released say ‘Drive My Car ‘ as a single in 1967 if they hadn’t agreed to ‘Strawberry Fields Forever ‘ (and off course they were able to as in real life the new clauses in their freshly signed contracts prevented EMI from doing so).

I really like that ‘just off’ rhythm of the Police. Old school Reggae does that for me as well.
On the classical theme, I’m listening to John Williams playing Bach solo on acoustic guitar at the Alhambra Palace. So many clean notes live. I must have played this video a hundred times over the last few years and it never fails to lift my mood for some reason. I bought the original vinyl Walter/Wendy Carlos moog version (Switched On Bach) in the seventies so perhaps that’s why it gets me so. Or maybe it’s just Bach.

Stew plays everything one quarter-note ahead of the beat.
Currently Bring On The Night. One of my favorite Police tunes, love the fingerpicking part, and the rhythm and chord choice, and the general feel… Just so good!
It’s amazing how great they sounded for the reunion!

I have Johnny Cash’s live at Folsom Prison album on vinyl, but I hadn’t previously heard the Carl Perkins bit at the beginning. I know he wrote “Matchbox ” and all, but I’ve heard the Beatles’ version enough times that I still expect to hear Ringo start singing.
