Just listened through Band On The Run + Helen Wheels.
Got The White One on now, loud and surround. Dear Prudence is just ending.

U2: Window in the Skies.
And after almost ten years I just noticed it was recorded at Abbey Road and they had a photo taken by Anton Corbijn on the crossing.

^ I need to pick that up again. It disappeared after I moved out of my last place.I’ve been looking for interesting covers since stumbling upon Ministry covering the Grateful Dead, so here’s Nine Inch Nails and Peter Murphy doing a couple of Joy Division songs…
I usually hate cover songs regardless of original artist, but I seem to especially hate covers of Joy Division songs. I feel it just doesn’t sound right if Ian isn’t singing the words, those words that were often so very personal to him.
However, I quite like these covers of New Dawn Fades (especially the first):
Have you come across them when looking for JD covers?
I did hear the Moby cover several years ago on a compilation that a friend of mine had. Was amazed at how not-techno it was lol. I hadn’t heard the first one but it I liked it. I used to dislike covers but recently I’ve grown to like them on their own merit (kind of like movies based on books. I try to appreciate them for what they are, not what they’re based on if that makes any sense).
Anyway, what I’m listening to now… I love electronic music, and Aphex Twin is one of my favorites (I’ll admit he’s an acquired taste though). Apparently he’s been uploading tons of unreleased and experimental work from the last 25 or so years on Soundcloud. Not sure if it’s some strange promotion for his new album or if he’s just bored, but I’m not complaining. At the time of this post it’s something like 155 songs with only a few unfinished bits here and there. Total play time is nearly 12 hours according to my media player. So yeah… pretty much listening to that for the time being.
Links ahoy!
Link to the soundcloud profile because embedding a 150+ track playlist in a forum post seems silly

I think that was the album he made a movie about called Runaway.

Listening to Noel Gallagher’s lovely new album that leaked between Friday night and Saturday morning. It’s AMAZING. I don’t know what I was expecting, but not this. It’s so different from what he has done before.
@Linde Yes! I was just about to post about it then. SO good, easily the best thing he’s done since Morning Glory in my opinion.
The jazzy influences on Riverman and the Right Stuff are otherworldly!
