I’ve been looking for interesting covers since stumbling upon Ministry covering the Grateful Dead, so here’s Nine Inch Nails and Peter Murphy doing a couple of Joy Division songs…

Sorry no link but I’m sure at least 95% of you have it on your hard drives: ATMP – 4th time in a row. Amazing lot of good songs on a triple album, from What Is Life to Art of Dying. A lot of wisdom in those lyrics too.
Been a big fan since the day it came out – liking it even more nowadays.

Offline Karl Bartos (who was with Kraftwerk from Autobahn until the late 80s) did this track- apparently with Johnny Marr (of the Smiths, etc) and Bernard Sumner (of Joy Division and New Order). Very Kraftwerk-esque vibe in this song. Moreso than some of his other solo and collaborative efforts.

I usually hate cover songs regardless of original artist, but I seem to especially hate covers of Joy Division songs. I feel it just doesn’t sound right if Ian isn’t singing the words, those words that were often so very personal to him.
However, I quite like these covers of New Dawn Fades (especially the first):
Have you come across them when looking for JD covers?
