I hear solo songs from Paul, John, and Ringo. Each of the songs was released in 1973. I admit, I don’t know George’s solo work very well. Is he in here too?

The YouTube playlist I made for the soundtracks/film scores discussion. I feel like I need a glass of wine for some of these.

This is awesome. A complete 1974 CSN concert, 40 songs 3:15 (longer than Paul, but concerts were longer in the 70s). The Grateful Dead were known for their long shows but all the ones I saw (early 80s) they only played 2 1/2 hours (which was longer than several concerts I’ve seen). Anyway…

That was fun. I didn’t notice George in there but nice catch on the other 3.

Are you sure that isn’t just a rip from the 4-disc set that came out recently? It also has 40 tracks and is put together to simulate a concert from the tour but uses about half a dozen different shows to get decent versions of each song. I’m sorry I don’t have time to compare tracks just now to confirm one way or the other.

Well, I think you’re right. Thete are numerous “live 1974” YouTubes and they are 6 months old at most. Plus, csn and/or y weren’t known for long shows. Finally, it didn’t sound quite continuous like a whole show should. However there’s a 55 minute B&W show of there’s that I’ll be checking out later…

They did give very long shows on that tour, hence 3 CDs in the set simulating the concert. The 4th disc is a nice video, but a bit too short as I mentioned in another post.

Sorry to say I’m really disliking most of it so far, too. Songs are very unmemorable, Paul’s voice is smothered in all sorts of crap and I really hate the reverby recording. A few fairly interesting textures here and there is all that really stands out. It feels really, I dunno, impersonal or something. I can imagine Radiohead fans would appreciate this a lot more than me. (Can’t remember if @ivejustseenafaco has a high opinion of this album or not)
I really like a few songs (NTMJOOS, Sing the Changes (though the Good Evening New York City version is way better), Highway) but overall it’s really an album I could take or leave.
What I’m listening to: Fall Out Boy’s latest! American Beauty/American Psycho has arrived! I have to say I think it’s absolutely fantastic. Probably my second favorite FOB album (Folie a Deux will always be number one). Irresistible, Centuries, Uma Thurman, and Novocaine are my early highlights.

Helping my father sort out his books, well i say books but its more three libraries as they fill (wall to wall, floor to ceiling) three rooms, spilling into a four. Many of the books are incredible, many go back hundreds of years and would have historians oohing and ahhing. There are also tons of 19th Century maps and letters. Its like having your own history archives.
