This song.
Sunburst by Dragon. Over 8 minutes of bliss from one of the forgotten bands of the 70s. They’re New Zealand too, which has produced some great music (not being paid to say that!). It’s a great psychedelic/space/prog song that for me is up there with classics like Us and Them and Starship Trooper. After their first two albums, Dragon went more pop/rock orientated but still had some pretty groovy songs.

Check out Quadrophenia then, it’s even better than Tommy. One of my all time favorites.

Great film, @JauntyMonty, full of great songs. The “See me, feel me” part is touching.
“Forsan et haec olim meminisse juvabit” (“Perhaps one day it will be a pleasure to look back on even this”; Virgil, The Aeneid, Book 1, line 203, where Aeneas says this to his men after the shipwreck that put them on the shores of Africa)

I’ve been having many dreams lately about my childhood, leading to some introspection. I know @meanmistermustard will disagree, but I awoke from a dream in the middle of the night with the thought that Karen Carpenter was a warrior. I know some people hear blandness in the songs of The Carpenters, but if you dig deeper, you hear pain and sorrow as well as hope and love. And out of her struggle, Karen, with her brother Richard, created beauty.
She was one of my earliest inspirations and role models. She was the rare, celebrated alto. I admired her delicate phrasing and clarity and control, and I tried desperately to sound like her as a child. I may never match her depths, so I do my own thing. But you can still hear her style partly in mine to this day. I also admire the fact that she was the drummer for a band at a time when women weren’t encouraged to do so.
She lost her battle, but that makes her no less a fighter. I don’t know why her memory came to me in a dream, but clearly I was meant to get back in touch with that childhood inspiration.

What do you think of it?
I should’ve listened to it earlier than I did because, as you can tell by my profile picture, I quite liked couldn’t stop listening to it.

Currently listening to The Beatles entire core catalogue straight through to rank all the songs.
I’m currently on A Taste Of Honey , and for some reason I’m enjoying it more than usual.
Ranking is so hard, wait til I get to 66/67!

I enjoyed listening to it, but only a few songs really stood out on my first listen. It was a bit mellower than expected, and I’ll admit I was playing a video game while I listened, so that probably didn’t help. I’m going to listen to it again, since I have the next few days off school.
Now another classic album I haven’t heard – Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.

I’m listening to Bookends by Simon and Garfunkel right now. To me, the song “Fakin’ It” sounds similar to “Strawberry Fields Forever ,” especially the outro. Does anybody know if this was purposeful?

From Wikipedia:
In “Fakin’ It”, melodies are occasionally deleted to suit lyrics, but the song generally follows a similar chord structure and melodic outline over a “funky rock beat” that sonically references the Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows “.[5] The song opens with an “unearthly rhythmic sound” (that some critics felt owed a debt to the Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever “) that was an example of Simon & Garfunkel’s desire to push the limits of studio recording.

I’m listening to Love on vinyl. Haven’t heard it since I got it a little less than a year ago. Because just ended.

Just ended. I love Love. It’s really trippy in the beginning, which I like, but on Side D I don’t feel like much was changed in the songs except the orchestral score added by onto While My Guitar Gently Weeps .
Still great though, glad I took it out… what next, what next?

@IveJustSeenAFaceo It says it’s limited, but it’s said that since it came out and it’s still there.
And to stay on topic I put on Red Rose Speedway .

IveJustSeenAFaceoI bought Love on vinyl a couple of years ago, but I think it just got reissued. I’m not sure what the differences are, if any.
