Paul Jackson, bassist extraordinaire for Herbie Hancock, and Mike Clark, who played drums on the Hancock album Thrust — just chillin’ & hangin’, groovin’ & floovin’ with bass & drums in a room:

Better than I thought it would be as the title track is not one of my favourites and the word on this was not good. I suspect the lads’ rep just suffered because they were no longer ‘West Coast cool’ in 1967.

Same old boring stuff
Decided to put on Rockshow and bring the lappie over to the recliner. I won’t name the song, I think you’ll all recognize the lyrics
“What’s that man movin’ cross the stage
Looks like the one used by JimmyPage (yes he sings it as one word lol)
Like a relic from a different age
Could be, Oooh-eee”

@Necko, I met Pat DiNizio in 1995 after a Smithereens concert near Detroit! Really nice guy. I was with my cousin, who was a much bigger Smithereens fan than I. (Only own their first album.) I commented on the fact that he didn’t use his Rickenbacker guitar for the concert; he made a comment that it was like the Cadillac of guitars and too good to use for a mere concert.
Now listening to Nomeansno, probably my favourite Canadian band in existence.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Oh, yes. I’ve met him, too. I’ve been to his house, in fact. He is a nice guy.
Speaking of only owning their first album…
